Joe Golden, Chair, Dept. of Theatre

Joe is in his tenth year as the Chair of the Theatre Department at The College of Idaho. He has been a company member of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival for over thirteen years. In that time he has performed in such productions as: The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), The Comedy of Errors, A Midsummer Night's Dream and many more. Joe has acted professionally around the country. As a director, Joe has staged many productions at CofI including: Reckless, by Craig Lucas She Stoops to Conquer, by Oliver Goldsmith, Vinegar Tom, by Caryl Churchill, Dead Panther Cabaret and The Eight: Reindeer Monologues, by Jeff Goode, The Marriage of Bette & Boo, by Christopher Durang, As You Like It and The Tempest by William Shakespeare, Our Country’s Good by Timberlake Wertenbaker, The Rover by Aphra Behn and Ubu Roi, by Alfred Jarry. Joe directed Fool's Gold by Tom Willmorth, for Idaho Theater for Youth and, most recently, Fully Committed for Boise Contemporary Theatre.  Joe was part of the cast of The Cherry Orchard, directed by Michael Hoffman, produced by BCT and appeared as Gogo in BCT's production of Waiting for Godot, also under the direction of Mr. Hoffman. In his spare time (hah!), Joe collaborates with fellow Shakespeare Festival actor, Tom Willmorth, as The Fool Squad..
