The Acting Program At...

Creativity, imagination, and appreciation of visual beauty are often associated with your brain's right hemisphere. Give your right brain a great workout at Parkland College, where you can build a strong educational foundation in art, music, theatre, speech, or the mass communication areas of graphic design, radio and TV broadcasting and communications technology.

Our Fine and Applied Arts students participate in several of the college's community-based features that function as real-world labs. These include the Parkland Art Gallery, Parkland Theatre, WPCD-Radio, PCTV-Parkland television, and concert performances.

What you’ll do:
Interested in a technical and/or performance career in theatre? Parkland offers an Associate of Arts in Theatre Arts that gives you a broad introduction to the field, with hands-on experience on stage and off.

Where you’ll go:
Career opportunities include acting, directing, stage management, teaching, technical direction, theatre management, scenic design, costume design, lighting design, prop design, hair wig and makeup design, choreography, audience development, ticket office management, and master electrician work.
