The Acting Program At...

McNeese State University

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts is designed to give the student a well-rounded education in all aspects of theatre, while demanding the core curriculum for liberal arts and humanities.

Majors are well prepared to continue their education in theoretical or practical areas, and the faculty assists in placing students in Masters of Arts, Masters of Fine Arts, or professional training schools after graduation. Majors also use their degrees in pursuing a law degree, M.B.A., professional work in Las Vegas production, as film actors in Hollywood, with Disney-World in management and performance, and as educators in the classroom.

The theatre program maintains an equal balance between classroom study and production with emphasis upon successfully completing the academic program.

Because of the small, friendly campus, interested students are able to participate throughout their college life in various roles, set design, and directing assignments based upon individual abilities and talents.

Guest artists, nationally recognized lectures, productions of new operas, traditional classics, contemporary scripts and experimental productions offer students many opportunities for growth and learning experience on stage and in the audience and classroom.
