The Acting Program At...

The Theatre Major at Anderson University offers a full performance-centered curriculum, requiring fifty-seven hours of theatre classes.  The curriculum includes four levels of acting, a theatre history sequence, Theatre Management, Theatre Ministry, Play Directing and Musical Theatre Repertoire.  While the curriculum is performance-centered, students can develop practical skills in play directing, theatre design and arts administration.  The Theatre Department is also committed to the study and production of musical theatre.

At each stage of your training you will be provided multiple performance and design/tech opportunities.  The Playhouse at Anderson University produces three main stage productions each year, as well as a series of student directed scenes and one-act plays.

The Theatre Department also offers an 18-hour Theatre Minor.  This is an excellent option for students majoring in Christian Ministry, Business, Communication – Public Relations or Art.
